SELVA XL is a fluorine-free, concentrated fire-extinguishing foam suitable for Class A and Class B fires (hydrocarbon fuels).

SELVA XL is composed of hydrocarbon surfactants and several minerals and organic solvents. SELVA XL contains no halogenated organic compounds; both the foam concentrate and the foam solution are easily biodegradable and environmentally friendly.

SELVA XL foam creates a barrier between oxygen and the fuel or combustion zone, thereby effectively extinguishing the fire.

The fire-extinguishing effectiveness of SELVA XL is similar to that of fluorine-based foam concentrates in hydrocarbon fuel fires, and therefore can be used as a replacement for AFFF foam concentrates.

INTRODUCTION

SELVA XL is a fluorine-free, concentrated fire-extinguishing foam suitable for Class A and Class B fires (hydrocarbon fuels).

SELVA XL foam creates a barrier between oxygen and the fuel or combustion zone, thereby effectively extinguishing the fire.

The fire-extinguishing effectiveness of SELVA XL is similar to that of fluorine-based foam concentrates in hydrocarbon-based fuel fires, and therefore can be used as a replacement for AFFF foam concentrates.

MATERIALS

The raw materials are sourced from countries in the Asia-Pacific region, and the finished products meet Vietnamese standards.

APPLICATION

SELVA XL is suitable for use with fresh water (or seawater), is completely soluble in water, and is effective for Class B fires (hydrocarbon fuels), achieving excellent results in extinguishing and preventing re-ignition. It is not suitable for fires involving polar fuels.

SELVA XL is also used for Class A fires due to its excellent wetting properties.

When mixed with water, SELVA XL exhibits excellent versatility, good heat resistance, and is particularly suitable for extinguishing fires involving fuels in civil aviation.

SELVA XL can be used with all types of low, medium, and high expansion foam spraying equipment (nozzles, sprayers, foam chambers, etc.); it is specifically designed for use with CAFS fire suppression systems. However, due to its inability to create a water film, its application with misting nozzles will not be as effective as concentrated AFFF fire extinguishing foam.

Recommended concentrations to use are:

– Class A fires: 3%

– Class B fires (hydrocarbon fuels):

MATERIALS OF CONSTRUCTION COMPATIBILITY

Recommended construction materials are carbon steel, alloy steel (SUS 304 and SUS 316) or copper alloys.

In addition, SELVA XLX is also suitable for use with synthetic resins such as PE, PVC, PET,..

SELVA XLX is not suitable for use on equipment and accessories made from zinc or galvanized material which can cause corrosions.

SHELF LIFE

The shelf life of SELVA XLX is about 10-15 years if the storage is done according to the recommendations of VINAFOAM.

Samples of SELVA XLX foam concentrate should be sent to the manufacturer or an accredited laboratory for annual quality testing.

STORAGE AND HANDLING

No change in technical characteristics during storage.

If the product is frozen during storage and transportation, thawing will restore its full usability. It is best to stir well after thawing.

Aquatic Toxicity

The aquatic environment, including sensitive species to highly tolerant species, is not affected by SELVA XL products

Biodegradability

SELVA XL is almost completely biodegradable:

SELVA XL products are completely safe for use with fire extinguishing system equipment and do not cause environmental pollution.
