AQUA 1 is a low-viscosity, fluoride-free concentrated fire extinguishing foam used to extinguish Class B (hydrocarbon fuel) and Class A fires.

AQUA 1 is composed of organic solvents, hydrocarbon-based surfactants, and other performance additives. It contains no halogenated organic compounds, and the foam concentrate or solution is easily biodegradable and environmentally friendly.

AQUA 1 creates foam to prevent oxygen from contacting the fuel or combustion zone, thereby effectively extinguishing the fire. The fire extinguishing performance of AQUA 1 is similar to fluoride-based concentrated foam in hydrocarbon fuel fires.

INTRODUCTION

AQUA 1 is a fluorine-free, concentrated fire-extinguishing foam suitable for Class A and Class B fires (hydrocarbon-based fuels).

AQUA 1 is composed of hydrocarbon-based surfactants and several minerals and organic solvents. AQUA 1 contains no halogenated organic compounds; both the foam concentrate and the foam solution are easily biodegradable and environmentally friendly.

The foam created by AQUA 1 prevents oxygen from contacting the fuel or combustion zone, thereby effectively extinguishing the fire.

The fire-extinguishing effectiveness of AQUA 1 is similar to that of fluorine-based foam concentrates in hydrocarbon-based fuel fires, therefore it can be used as a replacement for AFFF foam concentrates.

AQUA 1 uses raw materials produced in Europe and undergoes strict quality control; the resulting product is certified by international organizations (EN 1568-1:2018; EN 1568-3:2018).

APPLICATION

AQUA 1 can be used with all types of low, medium, and high expansion foam spraying equipment (nozzles, spray heads, foam chambers, etc.); it is specifically designed for use with CAFS fire suppression systems. However, due to its inability to create a water film, its application with misting nozzles will not be as effective as concentrated AFFF fire extinguishing foam agents.

FIRE FIGHTING CAPABILITY

MATERIALS OF CONSTRUCTION COMPATIBILITY

Recommended construction materials are carbon steel, alloy steel (SUS 304 and SUS 316) or copper alloys.

In addition, SELVA XLX is also suitable for use with synthetic resins such as PE, PVC, PET,..

SELVA XLX is not suitable for use on equipment and accessories made from zinc or galvanized material which can cause corrosions.

SHELF LIFE

The shelf life of SELVA XLX is about 10-15 years if the storage is done according to the recommendations of VINAFOAM.

Samples of SELVA XLX foam concentrate should be sent to the manufacturer or an accredited laboratory for annual quality testing.

STORAGE AND HANDLING

No change in technical characteristics during storage.

If the product is frozen during storage and transportation, thawing will restore its full usability. It is best to stir well after thawing.

ENVIRONMENTAL INFORMATION

Aquatic Toxicity

Aquatic environments, including sensitive and highly tolerant species, are unaffected by AQUA 1. The product does not pollute the environment and does not produce unpleasant odors.

Biodegradability

AQUA 1 products are completely safe for use with fire extinguishing system equipment and do not cause environmental pollution.

Decomposition

AQUA 1 is almost completely biodegradable:

BOD28 / COD ratio ~ 0.99.
The complete biodegradation time of AQUA1 is 14 days.

Wastewater Treatment

Due to its excellent biodegradability, AQUA 1 virtually eliminates the need for wastewater treatment systems.

AQUA 1 is fluoride-free and does not contain environmentally harmful PFOA or PFOS.
