OLAS 33

OLAS 33 is a synthetic film-forming foam, made from fluorine-containing surfactants and hydrocarbon-based surfactants, high molecular weight polymers, and various solvents.

OLAS 33 requires relatively low energy to form foam, and the resulting foam solution is capable of forming a film on most hydrocarbon material surfaces.

It also forms a polar, water-soluble material surface, such as alcohol-based solvents, acetone, etc.

These films separate the fuel from oxygen and prevent fuel evaporation. The water in the foam solution also acts as a coolant.

Suitable for use with saltwater, freshwater, and hard water at a mixing ratio of 3% or 3%.

OLAS 33 should be used at a mixing ratio of 3% for Class B fires (hydrocarbon fuels) or 3% for polar solvent fires.

The excellent wetting properties of OLAS 33 also make it suitable for fire types

OLAS 33 can be used with low-expansion foam sprayers (nozzles) and sprayers (mist nozzles,standard nozzles).

PROPORTIONING	OLAS 33 can be easily proportioned using most conventional proportioning equipment such as: balanced pressure pump and bladder tank proportioners, around the pump type and venturis proportioners, and handline nozzles with fixed induction/pickup tubes.

APPROVALS AND LISTINGS	OLAS 33 is certified according these standards: EN 1568-3,4:2018; TCVN 7278-3:2003
MATERIALS OF CONSTRUCTION COMPATIBILITY	Recommended construction materials are stainless steel (Type SUS304 or SUS316). In addition, OLAS 33 is also suitable for use with synthetic resins such as PE, PVC, PET,… OLAS 33 is not suitable for use on equipment and accessories made from galvanized material which can cause corrosions.
COMPATIBILITY WITH OTHER CONCENTRATES	You should consult VINAFOAM experts before using with other powders or foam concentrates.
SHELF LIFE	The shelf life of foam concentrate is maximized by proper storage conditions and maintenance. The shelf life of OLAS 33 is about 10-15 years if the storage is done according to the recommendations of VINAFOAM. Annual testing of all firefighting foam is recommended by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), so samples of OLAS 33 shall be sent to VINAFOAM or qualified laboratories for quality testing at least annually.
STORAGE AND HANDLING	Storage temperature: from 0 ^oC to + 50 ^oC. OLAS 33X is ideally stored in its original shipping container or in tanks or other containers which have been designed for such foam storage. If the product is frozen during storage and transportation, thawing will render the product completely usable. You should stir well after freeze thawing the product.
ENVIRONMENTAL INFORMATION	Aquatic Toxicity	The aquatic environment, including sensitive species to highly tolerant species, is not affected by OLAS 33 products.
	Biodegradability	A concentrate is considered easily biodegradable when the ratio: BOD₂₈/ COD > 0.65 OLAS 33 products are well above this level and so they are easily biodegradable.
	Sewage Treatment Treatability	OLAS 33 is not particularly toxic to the microbial populations normally found in treatment plants.
