OLAS 05 is a concentrated AFFF fire-fighting foam made from a mixture of fluorine-based and hydrocarbon-based surfactants, along with other solvents and performance additives.

OLAS 05 requires relatively low energy to form foam; the resulting foam solution is capable of forming a water film on most hydrocarbon fuel surfaces. This film separates the fuel from oxygen and prevents fuel evaporation. Additionally, the water in the foam solution has a cooling effect.

OLAS 05 is suitable for use with saltwater, freshwater, and brackish water at a mixing ratio of 0.5%. The foam solution can also be stored and used within fire extinguishing systems.

OLAS 05 is used at a mixing ratio of 0.5% (volume) for Class B fires (hydrocarbon fuels).

Due to its excellent wetting properties, OLAS 05 is also used for Class A fires. OLAS 05 is not suitable for use in fires involving polar fuels.

OLAS 05 can be used with low-expansion foam spraying equipment (nozzles, spray heads) and other spraying equipment (mist nozzles, standard nozzles).

APPROVALS AND LISTINGS	OLAS 05 is certified according these standards: ISO 7203-1:1995 (TCVN 7278-1:2003) (I A) – EN 1568-3:2018 (I A) – ICAO (Level B)
MATERIALS OF CONSTRUCTION COMPATIBILITY	Recommended construction materials are stainless steel (Type SUS304 or SUS316). In addition, OLAS 05 is also suitable for use with synthetic resins such as PE, PVC, PET,… OLAS 05 is not suitable for use on equipment and accessories made from galvanized material which can cause corrosions.
COMPATIBILITY WITH OTHER CONCENTRATES	OLAS 05 has been evaluated as compatible with other foam concentrates of the same type (AFFF firefighting foam concentrates) from different manufacturers at the corresponding mixing ratios. After blending and aging for 10 days at ambient temperature, the mixed concentrates have demonstrated maintained firefighting performance and effectiveness.
SHELF LIFE	The shelf life of OLAS 05 is 10 to 15 years, provided that storage and handling comply with the manufacturer’s instructions. Samples of OLAS 05 foam concentrate should be sent annually to the manufacturer or an accredited quality testing laboratory for periodic quality control analysis.
STORAGE AND HANDLING	Storage temperature: from -15 ^oC to + 50 ^oC. OLAS 05 is ideally stored in its original shipping container or in tanks or other containers which have been designed for such foam storage. If the product is frozen during storage and transportation, thawing will render the product completely usable. You should stir well after freeze thawing the product.
ENVIRONMENTAL INFORMATION	Aquatic Toxicity		Aquatic environments, from sensitive species to highly tolerant species, are not affected by OLAS 05 products.
	Biodegradability		OLAS 05 products are almost completely biodegradable: Ratio: BOD28 / COD > 0,65.
	Sewage Treatment Treatability		OLAS 05 has a low biological demand (BOD), so there is no need to supplement oxygen in the wastewater treatment system. OLAS 05 is particularly non-toxic to the biological populations commonly found around wastewater treatment areas OLAS 05 does not contain PFOA, PFOS substances that are harmful to the environment.
	Algae and moss		OLAS 05 does not contain Nitrates and Phosphates, thus does not maintain the growth of algae and moss in the water source.
