DESCRIPTION
OLAS 05 is an Aqueous Film Forming Foam (AFFF) Concentrate, formulated from a mixture of fluorine-based and hydrocarbon-based surface active agents, together with other solvents and performance additives.
OLAS 05 requires relatively low energy to form foam. And the foam solution is capable of forming an aqueous film on most hydrocarbon fuel surfaces. This membrane separates the fuel from oxygen and prevents evaporation of the fuel. In addition, the water in the foam solution also has a cooling effect.
OLAS 05 is suitable for use with saltwater, freshwater and brackish water at a mixing ratio of 0.5%. Foam solutions can also be stored and used in fire extinguishing systems
APPLICATION
OLAS 05 should be used with an induction rate of 6% for Class B fires (hydrocarbon fuels).
Because of its excellent permeability, OLAS 05 is also used for class A fires. OLAS 05 is not suitable for use on polar fuel fires.
Note: This AFFF concentrate is not suitable for use on polar fuels.
